Sacred Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera)

Nelumbo nucifera, popularly known as Sacred Lotus is perennial water plant, growing from a tuberous rootstock lying in mud at the bottom of lakes and ponds. The plant produces large leaves which float on the surface of the water.

Height : Height at Maturity: 1 to 1.5 m.
Light : Grows best in a sunny position.
Humidity : Requires moderate humidity.
Uses : Flowers, seed receptacles and foliage are all unique, attractive and interesting additions to a water garden or pond.
