Ficus benghalensis, also known as Banyan is a large, fast growing, evergreen tree with numerous aerial roots from the branches which thicken and ultimately become stilts.
Height : It can grow up to 30- 48 inches tall.
Light : Young plants are quite shade tolerant, but require increasing amounts of sunshine as they grow larger.
Humidity : Requires high humidity.
Uses : It is often planted as an ornamental. It is also cultivated as a shade tree along streets, avenues, in parks and gardens.
